If your pet doesn't meet the size or breed requirements for air travel, the only option for getting them to your destination - road trip! The Pet Porters offers personalized coast to coast ground transportation for pet clients in the Continental US.
Our Pet Travel Specialists offer worry-free travel services with the safety and welfare of your pet as our #1 priority. We are USDA-certified intermediate handlers, #74-H-0127; bonded, insured, Pet CPR & First Aid certified and experienced with the needs of a wide variety of breeds and species. All pets travel in a size-appropriate kennel, dogs are double leashed on walks and travel in climate-controlled vehicles. We also attach a Marco Polo RF tracker to all dog harnesses for additional safety in case of an emergency. Our handlers provide 24-hour care of our client pets for the duration of the road trip.

How do we do it?
Before and at Pickup:
- Review of the documents needed for State-to-State ground transportation of live animals
- Review of the travel supplies needed for the safe and comfortable ride
- Initial introduction between your pet and the handler to provide extra reassurance to your pet
- Marco Polo RF Tracker is attached to your pets harness for additional safety
NOTE: Supplies may include leash, harness, collar, food, required prescribed medication, and approved bedding/toy. If owners do not have a travel kennel for their pets, The Pet Porters are happy to supply a USDA-approved travel kennel. This needs to be arranged prior to the pickup of the pets from the residence.
En Route:
- Direct link to the driver via text
- Photo updates along the route
- Dogs - Comfort breaks along the route, every 4-6 hours
- Cats - litter and proper bedding will be provided for the inside of the kennel; cleaned frequently
- Water is always available for pets inside the kennels
- Food and medication are given as directed
- Visiting local landmarks along the route when possible
- Overnight stay in pet-friendly hotels with the handler; 24 hour care
At Drop-Off:
- Safe delivery of your pet to its destination
- Handover of the pet to the owner or authorized person of your choice
